The short version: CheckInForWork is a lightweight morning readiness board, not a payroll, dispatch, GPS, or emergency-response platform.
What works in the crew product now?
An admin can create a board, add crew members and first assignments, set scheduled start times and a grace period, copy private worker links, watch live statuses, mark someone called out or off, export timestamped events to CSV, save an admin recovery key, and permanently delete the board. Workers can check in, start or end a break, check out, and add a short note.
Do workers need an account, email, or app install?
No. Each worker receives a distinct private browser link. The link acts like a key: anyone who has it can record events for that crew member, so it should not be posted publicly or shared between workers.
How does “needs a call” work?
The admin board compares the current time in the board timezone with each active worker’s scheduled start plus the configured grace period. If there is no check-in by then, the worker appears in the needs-attention count. The board refreshes periodically, but it does not automatically call or text anyone. When people are late, the board can show a free “who to call first” order with copyable text openers grounded in your real roster.
What free crew assists are available?
On the admin board you can copy a call order for late workers, draft a rollout message for the crew, paste a roster for confirmation, prep a 60-second huddle script, and copy a day brief next to CSV export. Optional AI polish uses AI credits when you choose it. Assists never invent workers, never auto-call or text, and are not payroll or emergency dispatch.
Does the crew board track GPS?
No. The worker page does not request precise location and does not run background location tracking. It records the event time, board/member identifiers, event type, and an optional short note.
Can I use the CSV as a payroll timesheet?
Treat it as a supporting operational record, not a payroll or compliance determination. It does not decide compensable time, travel time, overtime, rounding, required breaks, or state-specific rules. The U.S. Department of Labor says covered employers may choose a timekeeping method but remain responsible for complete and accurate records. See Fact Sheet #21.
Is it a lone-worker safety service?
No. A check-in can be one signal inside an employer’s broader plan, but CheckInForWork does not monitor emergencies, detect falls, dispatch help, guarantee delivery, or replace job-specific procedures and applicable safety standards.
What does it cost?
The current crew-board pilot can be created without a credit card. No paid crew plan or future price is promised on this page. If pricing is introduced, it should be displayed before any paid action.
What happens if I lose the admin recovery key?
The key is saved in the browser that created the board and can be revealed and copied from the admin screen. The pilot does not collect an owner email and does not offer email recovery. If the key is lost everywhere, the board cannot be administered through the product.
Can I delete a board?
Yes. The admin screen includes a permanent delete action. Deleting removes the board record, crew links, roster, events, and availability statuses from the product’s board storage. This cannot be undone.
What is Personal Focus?
Personal Focus is a calm, local-first task-breakdown and short focus-block tool. Free tiny steps always work. Optional AI assists use shared credits after light onboarding or guest checkout. It is separate from the shared crew board.
Is this an ADHD treatment?
