Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 17, 2026. This policy describes the product as it is currently implemented; it does not rely on planned features.

Crew-board data

When an admin creates and uses a crew board, CheckInForWork stores the board name, industry template, timezone, default start and grace period, crew names, roles, current assignment labels, scheduled start times, same-day called-out/off statuses, private worker-link tokens, check-in/break/check-out timestamps, and optional short notes. The board is stored in Cloudflare-managed key-value storage.

The raw admin recovery key is returned to the creating browser and stored there in local storage. The server stores a SHA-256 hash used to verify it. Private worker-link tokens are stored with the board so the admin can retrieve and re-copy links. Anyone with a worker link can act as that crew member; anyone with the admin recovery key can read and change the board.

What the crew page does not request

Personal Focus mode

The separate Personal Focus tool stores priorities, notes, and timer history in the browser by default. If a user chooses its legacy onboarding, reminder, backup, AI, billing, or accountability features, the app may transmit the information needed for that selected feature, including name, email, reminder settings, focus data selected for backup, and accountability-contact details. Contacts must verify before the legacy alert flow treats them as eligible.

Analytics and advertising

The app shell (the private crew board and personal focus tool) does not load Google Analytics or third-party advertising scripts. The app may send limited same-origin product events when a specific feature is used so the operator can diagnose whether that feature works.

The public informational pages (guides, playbooks, and tools) may display advertising served by Google AdSense. The site's ads.txt file authorizes Google as a seller. Where ads are shown, Google and its partners act as third-party vendors and may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings or via www.aboutads.info. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Ads are never placed on private crew-board or worker check-in screens.

CheckInForWork does not sell crew names, assignments, check-in events, or focus notes.

Technical and abuse-prevention data

Like any web service, requests include technical information such as IP address, user agent, time, and requested URL. Cloudflare processes this data to deliver and protect the service. The worker also uses network identifiers in short-lived rate-limit records and may process limited event metadata to prevent abuse and diagnose failures.

Retention and deletion

Crew-board data remains until the admin uses the permanent delete action or the operator removes it as part of service maintenance. The current pilot does not promise a fixed automatic-retention period. Deleting a board removes its board record, roster, link tokens, events, and availability data from application storage. Copies may persist temporarily in provider backups or logs according to provider operations.

Browser-local Personal Focus data remains until the user clears it in the product or browser. Optional synced or billing data may have separate operational or legal retention needs.

Use appropriate data labels

Admins should use work-order, route, property, project, site, unit, or visit codes instead of customer, resident, or patient names whenever possible. Do not place passwords, access codes, payment information, protected health information, clinical notes, or confidential customer details in assignments or notes.

Children

The service is intended for business and adult productivity use. It is not directed to children under 13. Employers are responsible for determining whether and how minors may use workplace tools under applicable law.

Changes

This policy will be updated when the implemented data flow changes. The date at the top identifies the current version.
