Three questions for the morning huddle
- Is the right trailer, equipment, and fuel assigned?
- Does weather change the route or heat plan?
- Which property has a time or access constraint?
Privacy and safety boundary
Do not treat a check-in board as a heat-illness program, severe-weather system, equipment inspection, or emergency headcount.
When this lightweight board is no longer enough
Move to route-management software when you need recurring scheduling, route optimization, chemical records, or customer notifications.
Recordkeeping note
The U.S. Department of Labor allows employers to choose a timekeeping method, provided required records are complete and accurate. Check-in timestamps can help reconstruct events, but they do not calculate compensable time, overtime, travel time, or every record an employer may need. Review DOL Fact Sheet #21 and applicable state and local rules.
